Under Build, first choose your material, then type in your number and pick the size. You see straight away how it turns out. Every character is a separate stone with its own mounting kit.

Type your whole number into the builder. You then get a separate stone for every character, each with its own drilling template and fixing. On the wall you line them up however you like — side by side, stacked, or with the spacing that suits your façade.

If your house sits right on the pavement, small (about 15 cm) is enough. If there's a front garden in between, or it needs to be readable from the road, choose large (about 20 cm). Large is the size most people pick.

Yes. Choose Custom size and enter the height you want. You'll have a price from us within one working day. Please note: characters cut to size are made specially for you and therefore cannot be returned.

Letters are 6 cm tall. They're meant as an addition next to your house number, for example the a in 17a.

Granite is speckled and lively, with black, grey and pale grains mixed together. Belgian bluestone is blue-grey arduin with fine fossils and pale veins. Honed Belgian bluestone is the same stone, but finely ground to an even matt.

All three stand up equally well to frost, rain and sun — so choose on looks, not on durability.

No. We cut every character from a single block, and what the saw brings up differs per stone: fine fossils, pale veins, a speckle that is nowhere the same. Your number is therefore slightly different from your neighbour's. That's not a flaw, that's the material.

Not the way plastic or lacquered metal does. There's no coating to flake off after a couple of winters. Over time stone at most becomes a little calmer in colour, and outdoors rain marks can appear — that comes with the material and washes off with water and a soft brush.

No. Stone handles frost, rain and sun. If you do want to freshen it up, use water and a soft brush. Don't use aggressive cleaners or a pressure washer — they can roughen the surface.

On the back of every character are three plastic studs, already fitted for you. On the wall you screw rubber click rings to those same three points. You press the character on, the studs click into the rubber, and that holds it — without a single screw in sight.

Yes. Every character hangs on three points, with stainless steel screws in the wall. The rubber grips the studs tightly so there's no play, and it absorbs vibration — a front door slamming, a lorry going past. Nothing rusts, so years from now it sits just as firmly as on day one.

Brick, concrete, render and wood are all fine. The supplied plugs are meant for masonry surfaces. On wood you can leave the plug out and screw straight in.

A drill with a 5 mm masonry bit, and a spirit level to check it hangs straight. Nothing else: the drilling template, plugs, stainless steel screws, click rings and spacer rings are in the box with every character.

Around ten minutes per character, drilling included. The drilling template is full size and marks the drill points, so there's nothing to measure or mark out.

Five working days. Everything is in stock, so your order usually goes out sooner. For a character made to size we'll let you know when it's ready.

Yes, you have 14 days to change your mind. Send us a message and we'll tell you where to send it. The stone must be unused — a character that has already hung on a wall can't be taken back. Characters cut to size fall outside the right of withdrawal, because they're made specially for you.

Send us a photo of the damage and the packaging and we'll send a new one. It doesn't need to come back first.
